What? Where did this person ever the impression that you wanted to have relations with Matteo? Matteo is an annoying stranger human that has absolutely no idea what he is doing! Although arguably he did help you out of a lot of sticky situations, that doesn’t absolve him of his complete dunderheadiness and idiocracy!

Relations with him? Ridiculous!

If there was anyone who you’d want to “fuck” as this person so coarsely puts it, it would be Tristan! Tristan is a strong human-creature who would be a benefit to any deserving plant, especially in the more carnivorous areas. Didn’t you pay any attention to the relationship chart? Imbecilitite.

I know a bunch of my followers are from my cosplaying, so hopefully some of you will appreciate this! 

ADVENTURE TIME!!! I was Finn for AOD in San Francisco and it was hella fun! I made this costume in about two or three days, so you can see it’s not the best (please ignore my inaccurate backpack) but it was still good.

The best part was probably my sword, which you can’t see very well. I made it from scratch, and it was worth it! One old dude came by where I was sitting and sort of grabbed it without asking and posed for a picture for his wife, so it must have been pretty good.

That wasn’t the weirdest encounter though, that was probably when some guy saw me and yelled “aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAA” for about twenty/thirty second straight, then asked for my picture. He was really exited for adventure I guess! (If you are that guy, I’m flattered, but a nice hello would have worked just as well.)

The second picture is of one of the bathroom in the Japantown hotel, which everyone needed a picture of for some reason? 

I’ll be wearing this costume with new props, a better backpack, and longer shorts at Fanime, so if you missed/saw me a AOD, be sure to give me a holler say hi.

The dipthala plant is quite an interesting species. It exists in a sort of symbiotic/parasitic relationship with any human it manages to recruit/capture. It is a climbing vine, usually sporting a few large thick leaves and a multitude of fleshy mauve/pink flowers, usually at least partially closed. It lives in hot and humid climates, swamps being the ideal terrain. The one that took Vesa actually lives in a isolated greenhouse built on a spring. 


Usually the human has to be asleep/compliant/unobservant in some way for the plant to get a firm hold on them. The thick flexible stamen-like items in the middle of the flower secrete a nectar that knocks the recipient unconscious after several minutes. (The dipthala plant is partially carnivorous, and will eat any small bugs that become attracted to its scent. Humans are far too large for this.) 
After the human is taken in, the plant will keep them unconscious and unfeeling while it works on completely assimilating them into itself. The stamen eventually cover the entire scalp, the flower petals forming a sort of protective layer over them, much like hair. After about one or two days, it becomes impossible to completely separate the human from the plant without killing them. When the process is complete, the plant will have partial control over the human’s brain.


The plant can roughly control brain chemicals, so that whenever the human does something good for the plant, they will get a happy boost, if they do something bad, bad feelings result etc. It mostly brainwashing as opposed to complete brain control. It more beneficial to the plant to get young humans because they are more impresionable and will last longer.


In ideal conditions, the plant will have several humans, both male and female, so that they can reproduce and give more human helpers to the plant. The largest dipthala plant is as big as several city blocks and has a small village of people that tend to it. (Vesa’s plant just has him, because it is so small and isolated.)


The relationship between plant and man is symbiotic in that, technically, both parties benefit from it, but can also be considered parasitic because the plant uses the human without the human’s consent. Generally, the human tends to the plant in much the same way a normal gardner would do: trimming back other plants, giving it plenty of water, breaking off rotten parts, moving branches to better positions, etc. The plant provides the human with food, shelter, and protection: it’s roots and fruit can be eaten, it forms hollows/hammocks of vines for each of its humans, and other people generally don’t go near it. 


WOW TL;DR and I didn’t even say everything about dipthala plants. I just really like making up fantastical flora and fauna!

World(/Character) Building Wednesday!

Now that I finally have some character personality/refs up on my tumblr for everyone to laugh at, I want to (finally) do some world building, because who doesn’t want to talk about their characters and world and the minutiae thereof??

Ask me about character relationships, technology progression, backstories, personalities, governmental structure, in-character TMI questions, religions, etc!! Anything you want!

This is a little embarrassing BUT HERE’S a relationship chart of (some of) my characters! Alternatively titled Everything Is Platonic Always.  I love interesting character dynamics. Originally, I came up with all of these characters separately, each had their own past and mini-story. However, when I was making up Matteo’s story, I realized that he could be a catalyst to bring them all together. It is kind of like one of those traveling companion stories, like Canterbury Tales or the Wizard of Oz. I would expand more on the weird relationships but I want to segue into my next post…

(I have a backlog of old art I need to upload, let’s start with some fanart since there won’t be a lot more of it. Sorry in advance.) The Handmaid!! Proportions and anatomy and such are all kind of whack, but whatever! Drawn without reference too. Didn’t even attempt to emulate that pattern, and I think the dress doesn’t have those side-slits. WHATEVS  There’s not going to be a ton of fanart on this blog, so you gotta take it as you get it.

When I got to see this song in concert I thought it was really pretty and now it’s actually time-appropriate! I think part of the reason I like it is I don’t hear many Chinese songs that aren’t pop. Anybody else know any cool Chinese songs?

I guess this is my last post of 2011??!!? :OOO I hope everyone has a lovely New Year’s Eve, and a wonderful 2012 before we all burn in hell after the apocalypse!
